Free Registry Cleaners for Windows 7

Registry cleaning needs to be done regularly. If you do not, then you will run into serious problems in any version of Windows, but with Windows 7 the compatibility of all registry cleaners has been questioned. Fortunately since it uses a setup similar to Windows Vista, the compatibility issues have mostly been hammered out. Just in case though, a list of decent repair software that will work with Windows 7.

It has been tested on many operating systems, and even has a wizard so that you can choose whether or not you want to run a basic or advanced registry scan.

EasyCleaner is just that, it's easy to use, and while it appears old, it is actually a very nice program used to fix your computers registry. It is only rated for Windows XP, 2000, NT, ME, 98, and 95, but it does work in Windows Vista and Windows 7 without any problems.

Little Registry cleaner is a good cleaner and a decent contender in the market of free registry fix program. It is completely open source and works with both the 64 and 32 bit version of Windows Vista, hence it should run quite nicely on Windows 7.

Free Windows Registry repair is fairly decent, and it is supposed to be fully compatible with Windows Vista and 7. Though it is reported that the scan takes longer, it is still a fairly decent tool.

You can use Comodo Registry Cleaner which is also freeware and works great with Windows 7. There is both an installable and portable version of this cleaner, so interestingly enough this registry cleaner does not rely on or require the windows registry in order to work.

There are a lot of different registry cleaners out there that you can use, some of them are better than others but ultimately it's up to you to decide. Also remember that you shouldn't believe everything you hear. If you get a pop up that states you have an infection. These are usually a decoy to get you to download a trojan or backdoor program. Always make sure that you get your software from a reputable source and make sure that you know exactly what you're downloading! Other than that, feel free to start cleaning your registry right away!
